The Lamb Story Book Illsutrations (Copyright)

I got to do a children's book, I am so excited :)  It was a lot of fun to design and paint.

This is basically the story of the little wayward sheep that finds its way home. It is beautifully written. If you would like a copy let me know. Email me at kim.meade@gmail.com

Getting back to the canvas, portrait style!

So this was my fourth try after not painting for 4 yrs since college, wow do I dare admit that :) But it coming back and I am super excited.

This was the sixth try at a portrait and to be honest this looks better in person as the colors are a little more vibrant and the skin seems more translucent when looking at the canvas. I am excited though. I think this is what I needed all along through college some time to paint when I need to and able to keep up a steady flow of painting and a little bit of confidence :)
Hi there! So it has been forever since i posted on here :)  So a revival of new art is a coming. I am working at get back on track now I have figured out how to be a Mum and a Artist. Pumpkins in progress

At the ugly stage but getting somewhere I think? lol

Pumpkins anyone?

Halloween is here (and gone, don't tell anyone though)! I wanted to show you the progress of a sketch to painting that I am doing right now. I had a pumpkin patch but I wanted to add a little spice with a character also.
This is a traced over image so it is not the best, even if it does not give atmosphere ;) I placed it over the pumpkins to merget he two images.

In a whirl

Painted in oil, this took me about an hour and a half. It is really quick but it was really liberating and I like the way it turned out even though it is a more choppy style. I also used the 4/5 color technique on this one too :)

2 hour Girl in Oil Paints

This is a quick study I did in oil paints, I used Don Seegmillers 4/5 color approach. This painting was a lot of fun, especially with the values falling in to place, it seems as though I am starting to get the knack of turning the brush a bit more.

Haunted House

This is in honor of Devin. Here is a haunted house doodle that I am going to attempt to color in the next few days, I am excited:)

Shaking off the 5 min Gesture Rust

Some of these went ok, some of them not so much, but it was a lot of fun getting back into the groove :)

the works

Hi, this post is in honor of Curt since he gave the idea to put more work up on here, although every one is welcome to partake and enjoy :) All these images are copy righted so no nicking, got it? Nice one, the one on the right I painted for my little sis when she got married. The one on the left of the guy (yes this is a real person girls) I did for part of a class project last year. The bike pitcture was a image I did for work, which was very enjoyable, the diner one I did for work also, these were a bit of a break through for me in the use of illustrator.

blue cop bike

sunshine is calling constantly to me and in an effort to ware myself out ragged so that i sleep at night I have been remembering my childhood and riding around town like a bat out of hell. these days I ride a devilish red schwin bike (oh yes, one i got second hand for 30 bucks), but as a kid is was all about the blue bike with brake lines every where and rattling mud gaurds (great for standing on the seat going down hills to the garages). Some thing you have to understand on the street where i grew up was the 'boys', they would hang out under the pear tree, be cool, smoke a bit and generally look messy while harrassing the local population of the 'block'. I would bike past them as fast as I could as the shy 12 yr old, head down. Thats when it happened, as i streaked by home made siren sounds were made by the boys, neenorr neenorr. If your saying that is not the sounds of cop car, it is in england. (muwhaahaa, I love that I can say that when I have a difference of opinon than any one else around here. ) All I can say is that the siren wailing turned into an oppertunity to play starwars with the boys (their favourite game of the year ivolving a makeshift space ship tent with a sheet and old computer keyboards) and be princess leia, no gold bikinis involved though :) that is another story completley

beautiful people- TOP SECRET

recently it has come to my attention at work that a few select peeps have been secretly selected to go on pretigious video shoots. I was able to intercept this top secret information by a carefully executed neck cranning. I know that I shouldn't take it personally but the fact that I wasn't considered as one of the 'beautiful' people in the office stings to the core. it is a harsh reality that smacks between the eyes and cools the heart. Thus mechivious espionage team has been created with the left overs, picking through the riff raff we have been able to assemble and create a plan to recover our lost pride as the ..... ordinary looking people.

Is she mad?

A workmate of mine reminded me today that I was an artist and should put some of my work on here. It is strictly copywrited so no boot legging, did you hear that Bradley?
I often get a question why is she mad? or sad? or upset? the answer is that i am not too sure, prehaps there was a man eating hamster crawling up her skirt but you never know, what do you think?

school of rock anyone?

have you ever experienced the wonderful sweet vouce of a co-worker breaking out into full song. I tell ya, its like unto no other. First a high pitced wailing pierces the ears to the lastest coldplay song, then you get your haevy metal lovers who rock out next to you and wail with the power chords. I thought I would be clear of this group of people with whom music over powers them and creates a embarrassed public singing in what otherwise would be a proffessional work place. But alas no, who could resist a request for guns and roses rendition with a back up singer and air guitarist, there is not a chance I am shy, even if your like me and have been practicing your 'sweet child of mine' since middle school. Maybe some day Brad this music experience will be ours, but the day will be when I am blissfully un aware that I am singing. After all isn't that the power of music?

oh for the love of monkeys and fishes........

lol, so this morning I had my head filled with the random images of what occurs in a bachelor pad on the third friday of the month by a male co worker. I think the words spankaroonie and face slapping with fish were mentioned. It is a world that is dangerous and slightly insane, I have been steadily piecing the strange world together whilst at college for the last 5 years. I thought that I might be slighty qualified to understand somewhat of goes on since I lived with two brothers most of my life, but I am telling you, you put more males in a place together plus freedom and potatoes, girls its just not pretty.

been bit by a vampire?

stragley two marks on my neck have appeared that looks very much like vampire wounds. However nothing quite as macarb and romantic as that happened, in facttwo if my pores deciding to play fake vampire bite on my neck so I can have a good story :)
